Wale is prepping the Album About Nothing for a fall debut, and the D.C. rapper confirmed to MTV News that he and Jerry Seinfeld have been hard at work on getting the project completed.
“I’ve spent some good time with Jerry and we’re gonna keep building on it,” Wale said. “I wanna make it super incredible and super honest and I’m really putting the fans first on this one.”
“With The Gifted I [did] things musically and sonically that I felt I wanted to do for myself, but this one is solely for the fans and solely for the people who made me who I am,” he added, saying that he and Seinfeld might have some extra special things in store.
“I don’t wanna jinx myself but we’re gonna shoot for the stars.”
The D.C. rapper also explained why he continues to address “Twitter trolls” and other people who antagonize him, like that whole WWE incident that went down last month.
“I feel like a part of that is what makes me human, because I embody what a regular person would do if he was in my position,” he said. “I look at it like this, if somebody worked at K-Mart or Best Buy and randomly someone attacked them online–they’d respond, but I’m not supposed to?”
“I’m working on it,” he added, “But I do want people to know how I feel. I’ve always been one of those people that wants to get my side of the story [told].”
