#tbt mtv movie awards edition: the best and worst dressed of 2010

One of the number one things people can’t seem to get enough of during award season is the fashion! Some of the Spring’s hottest trends are inspired by what celebs wear on the red carpet, and as we gear up for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards we’re taking a look back at some of the best and worst dressed of years past. Consider this your #ThrowBackThursday style guide MTV Movie Awards edition!

 BEST: Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johannson

Keeping it colourful for spring, Johansson donned a forest green Dolce & Gabbana, complete with black pumps for her 2010 MTV Movie Awards appearance, and the look still holds up! Johannson’s dress showed little skin, but hugged all the right curves, leaving more to the imagination. It was sexy, but still classy, and that’s why we love it! (Fact: The 2010 MTV Movie Awards was the night Johannson debut her newly dyed blond locks)

WORST: Johnny Weir

Olympic figure skater, Johnny Weir, is known for his confrontational ways so we won’t say too much to offend the fashion forward athlete, but we will say this—matching outfits on the ice is one thing, attempting to match the Golden Popcorn, NO. (Fact: Weir wasn’t the only Olympian to attend the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, Shaun White was also in attendance)

BEST: Lo Bosworth

MTV meets the Oscars,’Hills‘ star, Lo Bosworth, arrived on the red carpet in a coral Diane von Furstenberg Grecian gown looking like an absolute goddess. It’s no wonder fans still turn to her for fashion advice(Fact: The 2010 MTV Movie Awards was the last time Lo attended the event. Tear*)

WORST: Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan surprised everyone, showing up on the red carpet in a Pamella Roland Jumpsuit. With the upper third leaving almost nothing to the imagination, and the lower third covering her SCRAM alcohol-monitoring bracelet, fans didn’t know where to look. (Fact: During the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, Lohan was in recovery…(wait for it) from having her wisdom teeth pulled)

BEST: Katy Perry

Some said she looked like a smurf, others said her dress was too short, we say, she razzle-dazzled us all in her bright blue California Gurl wig. The Zuhair Murad designed mini was one of many outfits the pop-star wore throughout the night. Paired with Rock & Republic’s ‘Lotus’ platforms that included a hint of yellow to  match her freshly painted nails, it was complete perfection. (Fact: Even though Perry attended the event with fiancé (at the time), Russell Brand, Brand spent the night locking lips with Jonah Hill)

WORST: Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera was stunning at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, but, her Vegas-like showgirl number took all the attention away from her luscious red lips and clean updo. It was definitely a failed attempt to be a part of 2010’s sparkle trend, but we have to give the girl credit for her fearless confidence. You do you X-Tina, we probably don’t know what we’re talking about anyway. (Fact: Aguilera performed a supercharged medley of songs for the show from her forthcoming Bionic album—which was released two days later)
