Osheaga 2013: mumford and sons headline, tegan and sara get close with macklemore

The 2013 edition of the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal delivered music fans yet another well organized, indie packed, chart topping, sometimes tear-jerking (in a good way) weekend and we think it’s safe to say — we all wish we were still at  Parc Jean-Drapeau singing our hearts out!

Whether you’re into hip-hop, indie rock, folk, electronic or just a little bit of everything, this was a festival that delivered. With two main stages jumping between sets from Alt-J to Vampire Weekend, Tegan & Sara to Stars, Kendrick Lamar to The Lumineers (did we mention the sun hadn’t even gone down at this point). And ending each night on a high with performances by The Cure, Phoenix, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Imagine Dragons, Beck, New Order, and of course the main headliners, Mumford & Sons.

Plus, there were three additional stages that hosted acts like Frank Turner and Icona Pop! So you get the idea, if you weren’t at Osheaga this year then you should be next year!

Check out some of the top moments from the weekend below and click here to see more photos from Osheaga 2013!

For the first time ever Macklemore & Ryan Lewis invited Tegan & Sara to join them on stage to help perform their single Same Love. A moment that had fans in tears and Tegan & Sara tweeting, ‘Thanks to @macklemore + @ryanlewis for having us perform #samelove with them tonight at @osheaga It was magical, moving and terrifying. :)’.

We’ve got nothin’ but love for K-os! The Canadian rapper/singer left the stage after just two songs but not before throwing his all-access pass into the crowd. Turns out there was something wrong with the sound and K-os is all about the rock and roll exit! He returned to perform his entire set the next day and it was pretty clear, the crowd was more than satisfied!

Swedish duo Icona Pop rocked out to a full audience on one of the smaller stages but proved themselves worthy of the main stage when the rain came crashing down during their performance of I Love It and they just danced even harder. #girlpower

Oh, and then Charles Bradley and the Extraordinaires performed. This photo speaks for itself. This man is an epic human and we love him!
