New studio! New series! New hosts!
MTV Canada christens its new HD studio with the launch of the brand new series “MTV SHOWTOWN,” scheduled to air Monday—Thursday at 11e/8p beginning February 5th! The series will be produced from MTV’s new 299 Queen St. West studio in Toronto. Headed by comedian Graham Chittenden and cohosted by long-time fan faves Nicole Holness, Paul Lemieux and Sheena Snively.
The launch of the new daily comedy talk show leads a series of changes for MTV’s suite of original, in-house Canadian series’. The cast will move forward with the hilarity MTV Canada is known by poking fun at hot topics and trends of the day. Beyond the roundtable, the day’s topics will be supported with a healthy dose of somewhat-related interviews, taped segments, streeters, and gazing into the Twitterverse for audience feedback.
“Irreverent, funny, smart and accessible, ‘MTV SHOWTOWN’ is MTV’s nightly connection to the discussion of the day,” said Neil Staite, Vice-President and General Manager, Music and Entertainment, Bell Media. “Late night snacking will never be the same as Graham and the team deliver MTV’s answer to late night with interviews, debates, and comedic wit found only on MTV.”
