Meek mill watched nicki minaj’s ‘anaconda’ video in jail — with 100 other guys

People pretty much lost minds when Nicki Minaj dropped her steamy “Anaconda” video last August. From handling bananas and whipped cream to rocking g-strings and giving Drake lap dances, her sexiness came in many forms.

With its nearly 500 million views on YouTube, it’s been watched over and over by fans fawning over the rap star’s beauty (and rhymes). Unfortunately for him, Nicki’s boyfriend, Meek Mill, was in jail when the video dropped. So instead of enjoying her company, he had to watch it through the screen, like the rest of us. And he did that with 100 other guys that were locked up with him.

“We used to watch Nicki Minaj’s video on TV all the time,” Meek told MTV News on Wednesday at the W Hotel New York – Downtown, two days after his new album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, officially hit stores. “One hundred n—as in the day room at one time watching ’Anaconda.’ That’s still going on everyday in jail. I know it do.”

Would you feel uncomfortable if that many guys were swooning over your girl — while you were right there? Well, Meek didn’t.

“It didn’t make me feel no way,” the Philly rapper said, adding that he “never even used to say nothing to them about [his relationship with] Nicki.” “Men, watching a video, they doing what they supposed to do.”

Luckily for the 28-year-old, he found a way to have more contact with her than just through the TV.

“Towards the end, we always was talking, the whole time,” he said. “She was a part of holding me down through that situation.”

And now she’s holding him down out here, too.

“She gives me advice,” he said. “Actually, ’All Eyes on You’ with Chris Brown was really her idea, where she thought she could help take that record to the next level, and she thought it was a big record. So we went back and forth about it for a long time.

“She definitely knows things that I don’t know, and she helps me out in some places.”
