In case you hadn’t realized from all those platinum-level first-week sales projections, lots of people are really into Taylor Swift right now — and one of them is Kendrick Lamar.
“Shout out to Taylor Swift,” the “i” MC told The FADER in a recent interview, before launching into his own rendition of 1989′s lead single, “Shake It Off.”
Lamar was showing some love for Swift for naming “Backseat Freestyle” one of her go-to pump-up jams in a recent issue of Rolling Stone.
“You can’t put great music in different genres,” he told The FADER. “I enjoy great music outside of my own music all the time, so I definitely can see where she’s coming from when she says that she listens to the record, and it’s a great thing for her to acknowledge that and put that good energy out into the world like that.”
Two of the music game’s biggest proponents of “Dance like nobody’s watching!” coming together like this. It’s… It’s beautiful, you guys.
