Katie stevens returns to ‘idol’ after ‘faking it’ singing debut

When Katie Stevens first auditioned for “American Idol” in 2009, she was a small town teen with big Hollywood dreams and a booming voice to match, but this week, she returned to the show as a bona fide TV star. To support the competition’s 13th season, the “Faking It” cast member stopped by “AI” to enjoy the final four contestants’ performances (with BFF Rita Volk by her side, of course), and it sounds like she had a blast.

“Rita and I at americanidol last night! So great to be back where it all started!” Katie tweeted with a photo of her “Idol” homecoming. Coincidentally, this week’s “Faking It” episode featured Katie’s first bit of singing on the show, as her character, Karma, performed for the first time in public to support the “Occupy Hester” movement at her high school (and, frankly, to land in Liam‘s good graces). Unfortunately, the sweet moment was soured when Karma’s fake girlfriend, Amy, became jealous at the idea that Liam was more important to Karma than she, but at least the crooning was nice!

Give a listen to Katie/Karma’s lovely voice below, and keep watching “Faking It” on Tuesday nights at 10:30e/7:30p to see if we’ll be treated to more performances!
