Degrassi and bell media clean up at the canadian screen awards

The second night of the Canadian Screen Awards ended with a grand slam for Bell Media and Partners who have taken away 43 Awards, including  4 for MTV’s ‘Degrassi’.

Last night at The Canadian Screen Awards, The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television presented ‘Degrassi’ with Awards for The Best Children’s or Youth Fiction Program Series for the episode ” Hypnotize” directed by Phil Earnshaw,  Best Writing  in a Children’s or Youth Program Series for  “Unbelievable,” and awarded Aislinn Paul for  Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program  in “My own worst enemy.”

At the Canadian Screen Awards Gala Academy Chair, Martin Katz announced that  “The Academy is honoured tonight to be able to recognize the creators and artists of Canada’s favourite drama, comedy, and kids’ television programming, that entertain and inspire us.” Aislinn Paul’s excitement blew up twitter after receiving her award:

Aislinn was nominated along side Charlie Storwick from YTV’s  ‘Required’ – ‘Realm of Raiders’, and ‘The Next Step”s Brittany Raymond, for episode ‘What’ll I Do’  from the Family Channel. Catch up on your Degrassi and watch Aislinn Paul in action here

MTV’s WE DAY also received an award for Best Direction in a Variety or Sketch Comedy Program or Series.
