Ashlee simpson’s photos are giving us some serious wedding inspiration
Evan, the son of Diana Ross, took to Instagram to reflect on his wedding day with his bride, who is expecting their first child, a baby girl, in a couple of weeks.
Despite a little rain, the wedding looked like it was something dreams were made of: a picturesque setting (which took place at his mother’s Greenwich, Connecticut, estate), the cutest little ring bearer (Bronx Mowgli, Ashlee’s son with ex-husband, Pete Wentz) and a dress to kill for. It gave me some serious wedding envy.
While I’m not planning a wedding, I’m sure some of you out there are. So here are six pieces of inspiration you can take from Ashlee and Evan’s big day.
1. Wear a long dress to your rehearsal… just for practice
I don’t know about you, but I don’t wear long flowy dresses everyday. At your rehearsal dinner, it’s something to seriously consider. It will give you time to practice walking in a long dress, which is never easy.
2. Don’t be afraid of a little rain
Of course no one wants rain on their wedding day (even though the say it’s good luck), but don’t worry about it because your pictures can still turn out stunning.
3. Don’t forget about the groom
Yes, everyone will be staring at the bride and her dress, but let’s not forget about the groom and his groomsmen. Make sure the groom (and his bridal party) pick out something stylish and classic, because pictures last forever.
4. Have a reception that represents you
Clearly we can’t all have Diana Ross host our weddings and have it look like this, but have a reception that represents your style. But, I mean, if you can swing those ceiling floral arrangements, then go for it because those are ah-mazing.
5. Don’t be afraid of a crop top
Some brides would never consider having a two-piece gown, but just look at how stunning this is. Ashlee had a custom lace Houghton dress with a long-sleeve crop top and a ball skirt. Oh, and let’s talk about that veil because it’s everything.
6. Enjoy the moment
Don’t forget to have fun, kiss and dance… a lot.
