Abc picks up ‘marvel’s agents of s. H. I. E. L. D. ,’ 7-second teaser emerges

As if there was ever any doubt, ABC has ordered "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." to series. ABC ordered a pilot for the series back in August, thus beginning the long journey to this moment, filled with casting, resurrection and speculation.

In addition to getting picked up, a seven second teaser has emerged and can be viewed here (for now at least; it’s getting taken off of video hosting sites left and right). The teaser is all kinds of awesome, if only because it shows found footage of what could be/most definitely is a blurry, rampaging Hulk. With the series starring a bunch of totally new characters, fans were starting to wonder if there’d be any room for existing Marvel heroes. This teaser proves that, yep, they’re in there too.

The pilot was directed by Joss Whedon, who also co-wrote the episode along with his longtime collaborators Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. The pilot wrapped production in February, thus kicking off every Marvel fan’s three month long period of rigorous finger crossing. That finger crossing has paid off.

The series will focus on a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents (hence the show’s title) as they deal with the more human fallout of living in the presence superheroes. Headlining the cast is Clark Gregg, reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson. Coulson died in "Marvel’s the Avengers," so fans are anxiously awaiting to find out how he returns to life. The series is rounded out by Chloe Bennet, Brett Dalton, Elizabeth Henstridge, Iain De Caestecker and Ming-Na Wen. Cobie Smulders has also revealed that there is a place for Agent Maria Hill in the show as well, and that her "How I Met Your Mother" shooting schedule won’t interfere, should any cameos come up.

This is super exciting news, especially following NBC passing on "The Sixth Gun" yesterday. "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will debut on ABC this fall.
