"My Life as Liz" explores high school life through the eyes of Liz Lee, a precocious, sometimes sarcastic, always witty teenage girl trapped in a conservative Texas town. Ever the outsider, the series explores Liz's attempt to make the best of her senior year by carving out a place of her own among her more "normal" peers. While Liz's off-kilter outlook and impeccable comedic timing make her journey of self-discovery an often humorous one -- her openness and honesty allow viewers to bear witness to the truest and most tender moments of being a teenage girl.
New episodes air Tuesdays 11:30et/pt

During her massive amount of free time, Liz often finds herself mixing up a fresh batch of mix CDs with the latest and greatest indie songs. When she's not jamming out to tunes in her hand me down, not by choice, non-green, gas guzzling Blazer, she is often face planted in front of a classic comic book, or trying to invent new ways to insult the blond conformists who populate her high school.
She has a pet snake and is a vegan, and has lost track of the number of colors she has dyed her hair. Liz is proud to be a nerd, and hopes one day to get out of "the suck", ie: Burleson, TX.

Bryson refuses to conform to stereotypes and prides himself on being an independent thinker. Though he will never accept the "rampant ignorance" of his Alma mater, Bryson has found a surprising number of awesome, like-minded fellows in his school such as Liz. His intelligence, athleticism, and sarcastic sense of humor have gained him an eclectic group of friends around BHS. After a failed attempt at starting the "Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" club at school, Bryson decided to focus on what he does best:

13. Having fun with very diverse groups of people.
14. Looking like an idiot and getting my ass kicked at hardcore/punk shows
15. Coming across as a pretentious jerk sometimes

Sully's quirky sense of humor and a passion for all things pop culture has landed him title as Liz's main cohort. Burleson High's little Spielberg. Liz's partner in TV production class.

Older. Wiser. But no less amusing than the other nerds.
As the only senior among the nerd herd, Troy likes to disseminate his wisdom in bite-sized nuggets...chicken nuggets, for the other man-children to enjoy. But in this rare showing, he tells it like it is.
TROY'S TIPS ON SURVIVING HIGH SCHOOL
1. Never commit suicide. People will be all over you. If you want to make it out alive, never die on purpose.
2. Dressing out during P.E. is an important and essential part of high school life. It helps to make you an contributing member of society.
3. Always eat your vegetables, so you can grow up big strong.
4. Try to steer clear of crack and crystal meth. If you do decide to venture down that road, always bring enough for the whole class.
5. Always carry around at least one pound of beef jerky, and a VHS copy of Varsity Blues with you at all times. You never know when you're going to need one pound of beef jerky and a VHS copy of Varsity Blues to get you out of a tight spot. I can't tell you how many times it has helped me out.
6. Keep your hair nice and combed.
7. Leave all of you weapons at home. Bringing a ninja star of a bow and arrow could probably get you into a tight spot. Hence the one pound of beef jerky and the VHS copy of Varsity Blues.
8. It's important to own at least one acoustic guitar. Nothing says success like carrying around a guitar at the wrong place and wrong time. Everyone will want to hear you play the same three chord song every single day during lunch time. It's the best way to make friends, while maintaining an edgy image. Let people know that you have been playing guitar for six months, and can still only play one song.
9. Don't step on a homeboy's new pair of British Knights. It'll save you some guff.
10. Last, and most important. Always stay on top of your school work in order to maintain a solid grade point average, and positive image. There's no other way to stay fly, and have all of your friends saying, "he truly is the bee's knees."
