Anna Cyzon is the host of e2, where she conducts in-depth and candid interviews with today's hottest stars every weekday. She also hosts MTV Screen which features interviews with movie stars, directors, critics and the dishes dirt on all the latest film releases.
Born in Crackcow, Poland, Anna immigrated to Canada with her family as a young girl. Fluent in both Polish and French, this trilingual host attended Bishop Allen Academy, followed by the University of Toronto where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.
But studying crime wasn't in the cards for Anna. With a serious interest in pursuing music, she auditioned for Canadian Idol in 2002. While she earned a spot in the Top 32, she was ultimately eliminated from the competition.
However, all was not lost—her strong presence on Canadian Idol landed her a position as a correspondent for CTV eTalk, the most-watched Canadian entertainment news magazine, and in 2006 made the move to MTV. While hosting both e2 and MTV Screen, Anna continues to work as a correspondent for eTalk and has interviewed many noted celebrities including Jay Z, P. Diddy, Nelly Furtado and the members of the popular punk outfit, Fall Out Boy.
When she's not getting the scoop from today's biggest names, Anna enjoys writing music and singing. She credits her parents for helping her get to where she is today. "Both my parents are amazing. They've sacrificed so much for me."
According to Anna, the most challenging part of the job has been "memorizing those scripts and learning how to work with others. I'm such a control freak!" When asked how working at MTV has changed her life, Cyzon says, "It's definitely made me appreciate how lucky I am to be here at such a young age. More importantly, it's taught me the value of hard work and the importance of being part of a team."
