The girls of Peak Season shown at Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort
Whistler, BC (March 31, 2009) - Production has begun in Whistler, BC on an unscripted, half-hour, original documentary series Peak Season that will air on MTV Canada. Filmed in the world-class ski resort and site of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the series takes an unfiltered look at the lives, loves and true-life drama of a tight-knit group of twenty-somethings, coming of age in the resort town where relationships change as often as the weather. As the popular Whistler saying goes, "You don't lose your girlfriend, you just lose your turn."
In the spirit of hit MTV real-life series, the production gives viewers a distinct, behind-the-scenes look into a group of real people living in a real community. This time, it's the high drama found in the unique geography of this world-renowned tourist town, where young people from across the globe congregate to work while the rich and famous come to frolic. A lot happens in this resort playground as Whistler's youth struggle to find love, friendship and themselves.
Exhilarating and unpredictable storylines flare up as local characters and outsiders from around the world mix and mingle. From a snowboarder doing everything she can to make it pro, to a scrappy outspoken bartender, to a womanizing party animal, to the Whistler imports from Australia adjusting to life on the peaks, there's no shortage of drama when personalities collide. Mix in a stunning little town going through its own changes as the Olympic Games approach and you've caught all of the excitement during Peak Season.
