Brüno Lands On Eminem During Awkward MTV Movie Awards Moment

While the show has not reached its halfway point, the award for most outrageous presenter at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards surely goes to Sacha Baron Cohen's Brüno, who surprised an unamused Eminem with a front-row seat to his manhood.

When it was his turn to present the Golden Popcorn statue for Best Male Performance, Brüno, the fictional gay Austrian fashion reporter, descended from the rafters dressed as a sort of angel. He lowered himself directly over Em, who had just returned to his seat after performing a medley of two tracks from his new album, Relapse, until his legs were on either side of the rapper's head and his bare buttocks were exposed.

Em then seemed to utter an expletive and request his bodyguards to get Brüno off of him. A minor melee ensued and Brüno dangled above Em, who quickly got out of his seat and left the auditorium as cameras followed his exit.

Somewhere in there, Brüno announced the winner of the Best Male Performance: Zac Efron, for his performance in "High School Musical 3: Senior Year."

Efron had a tough act to follow — "That was weird!," he said — but he was gracious in his thanks for his award.

First of all, that person below me is not Eminem. I think he has better things to do; probably still scrubbing his face from that horrible attack. But MTV always does shocking things like this; I am sure it was meant to happen. Besides, if it were real I am sure Eminem would have kicked that guy's ass real fast, no matter where it happened.

Eminem gave an amazing performance, it was outstanding and I loved it.. and the poor guy came to sit down and this is the type of shyytt Bruno gives him ? that wasnt a funny joke. There is no need for suing people or disrespecting people because of this stunt. If it was in fact real and not staged, I don't think MTV has to apologize to Eminem. This award show is based on humour and stuff such as this. I know its gross to have another guy's butt infront of your face, but jeeze it was apart of the show! Everything about the MTV Movie Awards is about having a good time and when Sacha Baron Cohen is presenting, you have to know something like this is going to happen. I think this was staged because if you see somebody hanging from a rope, in no pants, and is coming right at you, wouldn't you move?

What happened at the 2009 MTV Music Award Show was disgraceful, unproffessional, and without any class. It is now time for you to react with a righteous vengeance and be the best at what you do. Go ALL IN, nevermind the ethics and take this time to shine.

Definitely staged. Eminem was in on this forsure. Pure PR stunt. Props to Em for having the balls to stare directly at balls in front of millions of people.

Attack on Eminem?
Posted By: Alex
There is no way eminem was the victim of a Masonic ritual so what if the guy was dressed like an angel. Hiphop is not only meant for activism! so it can't be a personal attack on hiphop because Wayne was there and he's what hip hop was meant to be and started as isn't he?

Go buy relapse album it is amazing! He implies that the government is making so much profit of the pharmaceutical companies and people hooked on medication. Em has always been exposing corruption and how movies have an affect on us. I believe this was a Masonic ritual. Watch Ems video white America and mosh. You will understand MTV'S beef with Em

the naive...

I am still chuckling in amusement that there are individuals who believe that this was "real" These are clearly the same people who think that the hills is also "real". Em is no stranger to parodies or poking fun at celebs, and the show's very intro "previewed" what would be the only exciting event of the night with andy and jt in the limo, had it been remotely real - em would have clocked bruno and not sat there for as long as he did for the cameras to get a good view...

If this wasn't staged (which I'm sure it was) "Bruno" got real lucky that he didn't get hurt. I'msure this was staged though, we will hear soon enough..

Eminem vs Bruno
Posted By: Matty
Eminem comes across as a big baby. If he thinks he can dish it out and make fun of his peers, and yet not laugh at himself, he's got to take a good look in the mirror. Let's not forget about Timberlake getting Andy Sandbergs butt in his face during the intro. Though that was planned, it was still good to see a celebrity like Justin roll with the punches and have fun with his celebrity status. The Bruno stunt was embarrassing, but storming out like a big sucky baby was even more embarrassing for Eminem. It looked like he was going to start crying. Pretty lame for a so-called 'tough guy'. And Cohen likely went after Eminem, because his first comedic alter ego - Ali G, is a bang-on parody of a white boy thinking he is black. To sum up, that was the single most entertaining part of the awards show. Thanks MTV and Bruno, for taking the piss out of a blow-hard, socially disfunctional rap star.

Disgusting. I won't be supporting MTV until I hear an apology. Look at it this way, if that happened to my brother or my father I would be absolutely pissed! I doesn't matter if it was eminem, Ben Stiller or Brad Pitt, its disgusting.

Don't kid yourself - he may have just performed, which was great, but he performed to promote his album and make money, not out of his 'love for entertaining'. The Bruno stunt was funny - and look whats happening - the world is talking about it and therefore provides even more PR for Eminem and the Bruno movie.

I like Eminem but he slates everyone. No doubt he'll be writing a bonus track for his album which is pants anyway. Sacha Baron Cohen is far too intelligent to worry about Eminem. Expect a war of words to erupt and no doubt Eminem will go on about being a hard guy with a gun. Yeah yeah. Whatever.
