Jessi Cruickshank is one half of the hosting tag team for MTV's most top-rated programs, The After Show and The Hills After Show along with fellow host, Dan Levy.
Although literally born in Calgary, Alberta ("my mom went into labor with me in an A&W restaurant there"), Jessi grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, the product of a Polish, Russian, Scottish and Irish background--hence the freckles and her trademark red hair.
While attending high school in Vancouver, Jessi spent her lunch hours and spare time teaching drama to special needs students which soon evolved into a city-wide drama program. Upon graduating from high school, she was awarded a National Millennium Scholarship from the Government of Canada for her work in developing the successful program.
Her passion for drama took her across the pond to London where she studied theatre before returning to Canada to obtain her degree in Drama and English from the University of Toronto. While completing her studies she was offered a scholarship to work extensively with the Soulpepper Theatre Company.
Jessi's television and film credits also include two years spent hosting "Weird on Wheels" for YTV and lead roles in The Pretender, Virtuality, For Hope, and "Alive!"
With her eclectic fashion sense and quirky personality, Jessi has quickly become a fan favourite with MTV audiences. Since joining the crew, she has interviewed a long list of guests including Mark Wahlberg, Lauren "LC" Conrad from The Hills and Jurassic 5.
A self-professed "Whistler snob" this avid Canucks fan and snowboarder is always willing to represent her "peeps on the west side." She admits that at any moment before going on air, she may have burped, tripped or adjusted her clothing in inappropriate places. Of her job on MTV, Jessi says she is "happy to be a part of a network where I can just be me."
